Energy Systems Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Energy Systems Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in integrating distributed energy resources into operational and technical functions.

The successful applicant will be responsible for analysing DER behaviours, developing power system models, determining their impact on power system security, and implementing management measures in our operational systems.

  • Contribute to the development of a work program to improve our tools for managing low demand/high DER periods.
  • Develop control room visualisation interfaces using Python programming.
  • Collaborate with a team to identify priority areas for further uplift of systems required to operate the power system of the future.
  • Work closely with other teams and external stakeholders to achieve project goals.
Key Qualifications
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience with test-driven development & object-oriented programming.
  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills, including problem solving, modelling, and critical thinking.
  • Experience running dynamic power system studies in PSSE, PSCAD, PowerFactory, or similar platforms.
  • Tertiary qualification in software or electrical engineering or a related field with a power system focus.
