Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse/Midwife with a strong leadership background to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and lead nursing staff in providing exceptional patient care.

You will be responsible for guiding less experienced staff, promoting continuity and consistency of care, collaborating on implementing practice changes, and assisting with management responsibilities such as performance management and recruitment.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a hands-on leadership role in the smooth running of the ward/unit/service while ensuring high standards of care and operational efficiency.

Requirements
  • Holds current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, with eligibility for a practicing certificate.
  • Has at least 3 years' post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, or is classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Is knowledgeable in contemporary nursing/midwifery practices, relevant legislation, and quality improvement systems, and has experience supervising less experienced staff.
