**Job Details**: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Economic Development Officer.

\

 

**Location**: Adelaide

\

 

**Salary**: Negotiable

\

 

**Job Type**: Full Time

\

 

**Contract Duration**: 24 months with potential extensions

\

 

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice and support to Indigenous groups in economic development. You will work closely with stakeholders to design and implement programs that drive economic growth and prosperity.

\

 

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

\

 

  • \
  • High level of cultural competency, including demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Indigenous Australians, high level ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous people, and high level capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency.\
  • Analytical skills with proven experience in process design.\
  • Personal drive and adaptability to deliver outcomes under pressure and exercise sound judgement in strategically handling complex and sensitive work.\
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, coaching and performance management skills.\
  • Able to undertake regular travel between Adelaide and regional areas.\
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including high level listening skills.\
  • Demonstrated ability to provide sound advice and prepare written reports and briefings.\
  • Ability to work in a fluid environment, remaining flexible, agile and adaptable supporting colleagues at short notice.\
  • A valid Australian driver's license.\
  • Tertiary qualification in business, economic or legal studies or equivalent relevant experience.\
  • Desirable: Experience in economic development or program delivery.\
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and organisations is highly regarded.\
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous language is desirable.\
  • Knowledge of government processes, policies and procedures is essential.\
  • Understanding of economic development principles and practices.\
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.\
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.\
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.\\
