Counsellor (Male) - Aboriginal Community Health Specialist

Piliyintinji-ki Stronger Families (PSF) is a culturally responsive service that provides support, counselling, and case management to individuals and families in the Barkly region. We are seeking a skilled Counsellor (Male) to join our team and contribute to the social and emotional wellbeing of our community.
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling, or a related human services discipline, and be registered with an appropriate authorised practicing governance body in Australia. They will also possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in engaging with clients and writing documentation and reports.
The role will involve providing comprehensive counselling services to Aboriginal individuals and families experiencing family violence and associated issues, as well as identifying trends, gaps, and needs of the Aboriginal population in the Barkly Region to improve access and effectiveness of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive counselling services to Aboriginal individuals and families experiencing family violence and associated issues
- Identify trends, gaps, and needs of the Aboriginal population in the Barkly Region to improve access and effectiveness of service delivery
- Assist in facilitating activities and programs to enhance the delivery of services
- Liaise with other agencies, including case management related agencies for referrals
- Provide presentations, community education, and promote AHAC as required
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Counselling, or related human services discipline
- Registration with an appropriate authorised practicing governance body in Australia
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in engaging with clients and writing documentation and reports
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to effectively liaise with key stakeholders and build strong relationships
