Transportation Optimization Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Optimization Specialist to join our team. This role plays a critical part in enhancing road user safety and traffic flow across the state of Queensland.

  • This specialist will optimize arterial and motorway network operations through signal planning and coordination, ensuring real-time traffic flow.
  • They will manage signal timing adjustments for planned and unplanned events to support efficient traffic movement.
  • The specialist will configure and oversee smart motorway systems, including ramp signals, Variable Speed Limit Signs (VSLS), and Lane Use Management Systems (LUMS).
  • Responsibilities also include responding to public enquiries regarding traffic signal and motorway operations, providing expert input across project stages, conducting traffic modelling using SIDRA and LinSig, and identifying and resolving critical faults affecting network efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimise Traffic Flow: Plan and coordinate traffic signal operations to ensure efficient traffic movement.
  • Manage Signal Timing: Adjust signal timings for planned and unplanned events to maintain smooth traffic flow.
  • Smart Motorway Operations: Configure and oversee smart motorway systems, including VSLS and LUMS.
  • Public Enquiries: Respond to public enquiries regarding traffic signal and motorway operations.
  • Expert Input: Provide expert input across project stages, including planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
  • Traffic Modelling: Conduct traffic modelling using SIDRA and LinSig to assess intersection performance.
  • Critical Fault Resolution: Identify and resolve critical faults affecting network efficiency.
