Job Summary

This is a challenging opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective management and maintenance of specialized equipment used by rural fire brigades.

As an Operational Capability Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating the issuing, servicing, testing, and unplanned maintenance of specialized equipment such as P3 masks, gas detectors, radios, and tablets, aligned with departmental procedures.

Additionally, you will engage with brigades to coordinate, deliver, and/or facilitate all equipment relevant education (typically non-accredited training), including delivery of new asset induction to brigades before the operational use of assets can be performed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the maintenance and upkeep of specialized equipment, ensuring timely response and compliance with operational plans.
  • Engage with brigades to develop and deliver equipment-related training programs, aligning with departmental objectives.
  • Lead activities related to equipment purchasing, supporting trials of new equipment, and user evaluation.

Requirements:

  • Must meet the mandatory requirements and attributes as outlined in the generic RFSQ Rural Officer Two (RFSO2) role description.
  • Knowledge of or experience working with volunteers and/or within a volunteer organization is highly desirable.
