Steel Yard Operative Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Steel Yard Operative to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a major Australian manufacturer and supplier of steel.

This role involves working in a busy steel yard where you will be responsible for safely moving, loading, and organising steel materials for delivery. You will play a key role in ensuring prefabricated steel kits are picked, packed and sent out to customers on time.

  • Safely operate fork lift trucks (counterbalance and high reach)
  • Pick and pack prefabricated steel kits (sheds, fencing, carports)
  • Confidently read and follow pick lists or job sheets
  • Follow site safety rules and use personal protective equipment correctly
  • Work as part of a team to meet deadlines

Key Requirements:

  • A valid Fork Lift Licence (LF)
  • Previous experience using fork lift trucks in a yard, warehouse or factory
  • Physically fit and aware of safe manual handling practices
  • Strong awareness of workplace safety
  • Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

Shifts:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am to 4:00pm
  • Friday: 7:30am to 1:00pm
  • Overtime and Saturday work may be available
