About the Role

As a Valuations Manager, you will oversee various valuation engagements, delivering high-quality, independent, and trustworthy valuation advice to our clients.

In this managerial position, you will apply your valuation expertise and technical knowledge across diverse projects, taking ownership of assignments. You will also be responsible for mentoring your team, delegating tasks, and guiding your colleagues in their professional growth.

Your key responsibilities will include conducting thorough analyses, preparing reports, cultivating relationships with clients and team members, and serving as a reliable advisor and skilled valuer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive analyses of financial data to ensure the precision of valuations.
  • Identify potential issues and formulate questions for client discussions.
  • Lead client management interviews.
  • Oversee the preparation of business valuation reports.
  • Develop insights regarding a client's business and equity value for discussions with senior management.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of comparable companies and transactions.
  • Gain proficiency in a variety of valuation services, including Purchase Price Allocations (PPAs), Intangible Asset Valuations, Convertible Notes, Employee Equity Valuations, and Impairment Testing.
  • Manage the majority of analysis and report preparation for the aforementioned valuations.
  • Effectively monitor and manage work in progress throughout the project, ensuring timely communication of any potential issues.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives.
  • Identify new opportunities for work and networking.
  • Suggest improvements to processes.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, providing guidance, answering questions, reviewing work, and assisting in their career advancement.
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and clients.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in a valuations role, preferably within a professional services environment, along with an accounting-related Bachelor's degree and membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants or a similar organization. You should have:

  • Experience with various business valuations, including exposure to intangible assets, options, and impairment testing.
  • Knowledge of valuation methodologies and practices.
  • Experience in interpreting financial statements.
  • Proficiency in modeling financial, economic, or operational data.
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial insight.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities supported by advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed computer skills to enhance efficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  • A team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • A creative approach to identifying improved working methods.
  • The ability to self-manage and perform effectively under pressure.
  • A strong motivation to challenge yourself and advance your career.
