About the Role

In the capacity of Valuations Manager, you will oversee various valuation projects, delivering high-quality, independent, and trustworthy valuation advice to our clients.

Your managerial role will leverage your valuation expertise and technical knowledge, allowing you to engage in diverse projects while taking ownership of assignments. You will also be responsible for mentoring your team and delegating tasks to facilitate their professional growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough analyses of financial data to ensure valuation accuracy.
  • Identifying issues and preparing inquiries for client discussions.
  • Leading client management interviews.
  • Overseeing the preparation of business valuation reports.
  • Formulating perspectives on a client's business and equity value for discussions with senior management.
  • Analyzing comparable companies and transactions.
  • Gaining proficiency in various valuation services, including Purchase Price Allocations (PPAs), Intangible Asset Valuations, Convertible Notes, Employee Equity Valuations, and Impairment Testing.
  • Managing the analysis and report preparation for the aforementioned valuations.
  • Effectively tracking work in progress throughout the project duration, ensuring timely communication of any potential issues.
  • Contributing to business development initiatives.
  • Identifying new work opportunities and building connections.
  • Seeking opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members, providing guidance, answering queries, reviewing work, and assisting in their career advancement.
  • Collaborating and establishing strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and clients.

Who We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in a valuation role, preferably within a professional services environment, along with an accounting-related Bachelor's degree and membership in the Institute of Chartered Accountants or an equivalent body. You should have:

  • Experience with various business valuations, including intangible assets, options, and impairment testing.
  • Knowledge of valuation methodologies.
  • Proficiency in interpreting financial statements.
  • Experience in modeling financial, economic, or operational data.
  • A solid understanding of best practice valuation standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial insight.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities supported by advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed computer skills to enhance efficiency and productivity, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  • A team-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal and client relationship skills.
  • A creative approach to identifying improved work processes.
  • The ability to self-manage and perform effectively under pressure.
