The Sustainability Strategist plays a vital role in spearheading and coordinating city-wide initiatives to advance sustainability and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leverage strategic planning and implementation expertise to drive progress in sustainability and resilience, fostering collaboration with multiple City departments.
  • Conduct in-depth research and provide actionable recommendations on pressing issues related to sustainability, food resilience, energy, and climate action.
  • Promote project management excellence for sustainability programs, including solar projects, EV infrastructure, food resilience initiatives, and other sustainability initiatives.
  • IDentify and pursue grant funding opportunities for new and ongoing sustainability and resilience initiatives, maximizing impact and efficiency.
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with government, nonprofit, academic, and private sector organizations to accelerate sustainability and resilience efforts.

A successful candidate will possess a strong background in sustainability, environmental studies/sciences, public policy, urban planning, resource economics, or business administration. Moderate experience working for local government, performing policy analysis, project management, and engaging with diverse populations is also essential.
