We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Aboriginal Field Officer to join our team at our Newcastle (Hunter Street) office. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are informed of their legal options and assist in addressing their unmet legal needs.
About the role:
The Aboriginal Field Officer will be responsible for assisting solicitors and administrative staff to develop, co-ordinate, facilitate and implement outreach services, community legal education sessions and engagement with Aboriginal communities.
About you:
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and committed team member with experience in responding to the complex needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients. You should be able to communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds and with relevant stakeholders and service delivery partners.

Essential requirements:
- be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
- be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before you start work with us
- be willing to do a Criminal Record Check
- have a current Working with Children Check, or be willing to get one before you start work with us
- have a valid Driver's Licence
