Visual Effects Artist - Layout Specialist

">

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Visual Effects Artist to join our team as a Layout Specialist.

">

The ideal candidate will have an eye for cinematic staging, camera work, and set dressing. They will be responsible for fine-tuning the layout of animated scenes, working closely with the layout supervisor and director to ensure that all components are visually cohesive and aligned with the director's vision.

Key Responsibilities:

">

• Fine tune cinematic staging as directed by the Layout Supervisor or Director

">

• Work closely with the Final Layout Lead and Supervisor to finalize camera setups, including framing, angles and movement, to enhance storytelling and visual impact.

">

• Refine and polish set dressing, ensuring that all elements are visually cohesive and aligned with the director's vision.

">

• Provide attention to detail to assist in maintaining continuity and consistency.

">

• Document the final layout process to ensure consistency and clarity across the team.

">

• Collaborate with relevant departments to maintain clear communication and updates, progress and potential challenges.

">

• Clearly understand the creative and technical requirements of a sequence and deliver these goals in a timely manner and to the highest standard.

">

• Keep informed about the production status of elements within the shots. Ensure all visual elements are technically sound and ready for the final stages of the production.

">

Requirements:

">

• 2-3 years experience working in Final Layout on feature animated films, animated TV series or feature VFX films.

">

• Strong aptitude for detail and process.

">

• Proficiency in Maya and knowledge of Blender recommended.

">

• Working knowledge of camera animation, scene set-up, and set dressing.

">

• Ability to produce high-level camera work with an in-depth knowledge of camera polishing, framing, composition techniques, and cinematography.

">

• An understanding of editing and ensuring continuity over a sequence of shots and the film would be an advantage.

">

• Ability to work solo as well as collaboratively.

">

• Open to new workflows and tool sets.

">

• Able to maintain a flexible approach with the ability to achieve deadlines while under pressure.

">

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to efficiently organize and prioritize work across multiple areas.
