Animal Rehoming Specialist

This is an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the Animal Rehoming Program. As an Animal Rehoming Specialist, you will play a vital role in the development, implementation, and management of this program.
About the Role:- You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Animal Rehoming Program, which includes selling, rescuing, and fostering animals at our animal shelter.
- You will work closely with internal staff, customers, rescue groups, foster carers, and organisations such as Animal Welfare League (AWL) and RSPCA to ensure successful rehoming outcomes.
- You will liaise and network effectively to promote the program and its goals.
- Certificate IV in Animal Behaviour & Training or a closely related discipline and/or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in the application of the Companion Animals Act 1998 and Australian Animal Welfare standards.
- Statement of Attainment in microchipping cats and dogs.
- Experience working in animal shelters or rescue organisations.
- Skills in animal handling, assessment, enrichment programs, and rehoming procedures.
- A high level of knowledge and experience in marketing and promotional work.
