About the Data Cadet Program

The Australian Government's data cadet initiative offers university students a valuable opportunity to gain industry experience and make a positive impact in the community.

As a data cadet, you'll be placed with one of many participating government departments where you'll have the support to complete your degree and explore different digital and technology-related careers.

Once you've finished your degree, you'll become a full-time employee in your department.

Key Benefits:

  • Receive an academic allowance of up to $800 per unit for up to 4 units per semester

Eligibility Criteria:

We're looking for individuals with a curiosity, aptitude, and interest in data disciplines who are passionate about serving the Australian community and contributing to a positive workplace.

To be eligible, you must be an Australian citizen, have completed at least one year of a data degree, and have a minimum of one year of study remaining.
