Victim Support Specialist

Our organisation is committed to providing support services to individuals and families affected by family violence. The Western Specialist Family Violence Service team are the lead providers of an integrated family violence service system in the Northern Metropolitan region.

The service aims to empower victim survivors and their children to maintain a life free from violence, while addressing their emotional and practical needs. This involves comprehensive risk assessments, identifying survivor goals, and providing support in navigating complex service systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments with victim survivors and their children in accordance with the MARAM framework.
  • In consultation with survivors, identify and work towards achieving specialist family violence goals.
  • Engage with survivors in face-to-face settings, both in the office and within their community, ensuring safety and accessibility for all parties involved.
  • Support survivors in navigating complex service systems and accessing necessary resources.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with victims of family violence and understanding of the complexities surrounding this issue.
  • Knowledge of the MARAM framework and its application in risk assessment and management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, prioritising communication and interpersonal skills.
