The Opportunity:
Our specialist family violence programs aim to support victim survivors and their children to remain safely within their community and maintain a life free of violence.
We currently have two roles available, both based at our office on Wurundjeri Country with a mix of working in the office and working from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a response to victim survivors at risk including ongoing assessment of family violence risk
- Safety planning
- Assertive engagement
- Outreach
- Extensive advocacy and referrals within the service system.
The Family Violence Specialist will respond to incoming calls and referrals from victim survivors and provide secondary consultations to professionals, this role may also include short term case management to victim survivors in crisis accommodation.
About You:
- A minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or recent employment in the family violence sector or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles
- A comprehensive understanding of the Integrated Family Violence Service System
- Knowledge of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and the Common Risk Assessment Framework, MARAM and the ability to share this knowledge and model systems advocacy
Requirements:
- Ability to speak a language in addition to English
- Previous experience working with victim survivors of family violence
- Previous experience in family violence risk-assessment and safety planning
