Communications Specialist Role

As a Communications Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing strategic communications that captivate and engage diverse audiences, elevating the brand of an iconic arts organization. Your expertise in delivering exceptional PR services will be instrumental in winning the hearts and minds of Australians, fostering a deep respect and appreciation for the national ballet company.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing innovative publicity campaigns, leveraging relationships across the organization to secure accurate data and expert commentary, and arranging interviews, photo shoots, and other media activities to enhance the profile of the company, its performances, and artists.

Key responsibilities include generating compelling story angles aligned with the overarching strategy, driving and implementing media events, creating and executing public relations campaigns, and continuously finding new ways to increase brand awareness and attract new audiences.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • A minimum five years' experience in developing strategies and executing PR campaigns for prominent brands or as a journalist.
  • Strong understanding of the arts and entertainment sectors.
  • A proven track record of achieving revenue targets.
  • Exceptional written communication skills.
  • Alignment with the organization's values.
  • Deep knowledge of the Australian national media landscape and proven examples of securing national media coverage.
