About the Aboriginal Health Worker Role

This is a key position within our community, working closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

As an Aboriginal Health Worker, you will be responsible for delivering culturally safe health services across the community, bridging cultural connections, and advocating for patients.

You will play a vital role in responding to the physical, emotional, cultural, and environmental needs of individuals and communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide primary health care services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Bridge cultural connections and advocate for patients.
  • Deliver culturally safe health services across the community.
Selection Criteria:
  • Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage.
  • Hold a minimum of Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or relevant Certificate III health qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the local Aboriginal community.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team.
