**What you'll be doing**
- The Aboriginal Health Practitioner (AHP) works as part of a multidisciplinary team and are responsible for the delivery of culturally safe and high quality direct clinical services including patient care, health promotion and education.

**Selection Criteria**
- Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage (NB applicant’s race is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised by Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW) and have established links with their local Aboriginal community.
- Hold a minimum Certificate IV Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) and current Authority to Practice as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
- Have an understanding of the factors and impact these factors have on Aboriginal people and their health outcomes. Factors include Australian history social-economic influences, complexities of chronic disease and preventable lifestyle illnesses.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, and effectively communicate, collaborate and consult with both colleagues and members of the Aboriginal community.
- Demonstrated capacity to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate health promotion and education initiatives.
- Demonstrated capability to use computer programs required to plan, deliver and document patient care.
- Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.

**Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases**
