Job DescriptionThis is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and injured animals in our emergency department. The successful candidate will have the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill and injured animals in our emergency department
- Assist veterinarians with medical procedures, surgeries, and treatments
- Monitor patients' vital signs and administer medications as prescribed
- Perform diagnostic tests such as bloodwork, X-rays, and ultrasounds
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation is up-to-date
- Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing updates on their pet's condition and treatment plan
To be considered for this role, you will need to possess:
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a veterinary nurse, preferably in an emergency or critical care setting
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of veterinary medical procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
