About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Coordinator to join our team at Wellways Australia Limited. As a Support Coordinator, you will play a vital role in providing non-clinical care and practical support to individuals who have attempted suicide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in intake and assessment processes to support individuals referred to our service
  • Provide individualized practical support to consumers and their families for the first three months following a suicide attempt
  • Assist participants in developing safety and support plans
  • Support individuals to stay safe and connect with essential services
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications or commensurate experience in working in the mental health or community services sector
  • Experience in working with people bereaved through suicide or experience in dealing with severe personal trauma
  • An understanding of recovery principles and/or strengths-based principles
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Satisfactory Police Records Check
  • Blue Card – Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • NDIS Workers Orientation Module – Quality Safety and You – free online course
  • Right to Work within Australia
