Job Title: Strategic Human Resources Partner
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Job Summary: As a trusted advisor, you will partner with business leaders to provide strategic HR guidance supporting organizational objectives. You will lead HR initiatives manage employee relations implement policies and ensure compliance with employment laws.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the organization's objectives providing insightful recommendations on talent management organizational development employee engagement and succession planning.
- Provide strategic HR support and guidance to business leaders offering expert insights on workforce planning talent acquisition compensation and benefits employee and talent development workforce and succession planning.
- Drive HR initiatives and projects including performance management talent acquisition compensation and benefits employee and talent development workforce and succession planning.
- Assist with employee promotions transfers layoffs and separations in a timely manner ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Conduct regular assessments of HR policies procedures and practices to ensure compliance with local employment laws and regulations maintaining a high level of corporate governance.
- Oversee employee relations matters including investigations conflict resolution disciplinary actions and grievance procedures promoting a positive work culture.
- Coach and mentor HR team members fostering their professional growth and ensuring a high level of HR service delivery excellence.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends best practices and changes in employment legislation recommending and implementing improvements to HR policies and practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support change management initiatives ensuring effective communication and engagement throughout the organization.
- Prepare HR metrics reports and presentations for senior management providing actionable insights into HR initiatives and recommending data-driven improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field with strong academic credentials.
- Proven experience as an HRBP or in a similar strategic HR role preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Australian employment laws regulations and HR best practices.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to align HR strategies with organizational objectives driving business outcomes.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and influencing skills with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience in managing employee relations matters including complex investigations and conflict resolution.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with a proactive solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven HR recommendations.
- Proficiency in HR software and systems for HRIS performance management and data analytics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A relevant postgraduate qualification is a plus Professional HR certifications e.g. SHRM-SCP AHRI-CP.
- E-learning or SaaS EdTech experience preferred but not required.
