Job Summary:

We are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our team at a Defence Force base. This is a casual role working predominantly between 4:30pm - 8:30pm, Monday - Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe food handling, sanitisation, and cleanliness of meal and service areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of food preparation equipment.
  • Assist with stock takes and inventory control activities as required.
  • Comply with site-specific safety requirements and report any potential issues.
  • Assist with basic food preparation as requested by the Head Chef.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience as a Kitchen Assistant in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of hygiene practices and food safety programs.
  • Ability and willingness to follow instructions.
  • Good communication skills.
