Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Technician to install or replace electrical/data cabling and equipment in domestic/medium density-high-rise settings. This is a field-based role that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing or replacing data cables from the pulse output connection points at all Meters and MDL consoles, as well as testing and terminating these cables.

In addition, the technician will be required to replace/install electrical/data equipment for both Gas and Water meters in domestic and commercial settings for Meter Data Logger (MDL) Installation configurations.

This role also involves testing, commissioning, and programming for Meter Data Logger (MDL) Installation configurations, as well as planned and unplanned maintenance for Meter Data Logger (MDL) Installation configurations.

Good communication skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders effectively are essential for this position.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Austel or equivalent cabling accreditation is highly desirable
  • Trade experience in communications or electrical is an advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective stakeholder interaction
  • Exceptional prioritisation and time management skills are required to manage competing demands
  • Maintenance of safety standards is crucial in this role
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders is essential
