About the Role

The Australian National University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our Research Services team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of research funding initiatives and driving excellence in research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the preparation of high-quality funding applications to secure external research funding for the University.
  • Project manage and enhance the quality of our funding applications to achieve high success rates in a wide range of funding schemes.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to researchers to ensure they are well-prepared to submit high-quality applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the University to identify opportunities for research funding and develop strategies to secure these opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including funding agencies, industry partners, and other external organizations.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership experience within a higher education or research setting.
  • Proven track record of success in securing external research funding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and partnership.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
