About the Role

The APS is seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Project Manager to join the Naval Shipbuilding & Sustainment Group. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-profile project that will deliver up to eleven General Purpose Frigate vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational support to project management and facilitate administrative and coordination requirements.
  • Research, draft and prepare briefs, complex correspondence and reports, including submissions for committee consideration.
  • Provide support in the preparation of tender documentation and completion of tender process from RFT through to contract execution.
  • Work collaboratively, operate as an effective team member and provide constructive feedback.
  • Be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships and will be required to identify relevant stakeholders' expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.
  • Resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.
Requirements
  • Well-developed skills and demonstrated experience in project management.
  • The capacity to think strategically and develop plans and processes to enhance the achievement of business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • High-level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative with the ability to influence others to achieve tasks and business objectives.
  • Procurement and ASDEFCON practical experience is desirable.
