Crisis Management Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our Crisis Planning and Response Team within the Resilience Division of the Department of the Prime Minister.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive reforms to strategic crisis management response arrangements and capabilities.
  • Develop policies, procedures and strategies for emergency response.
  • Represent the department at national crisis meetings and provide situational updates to stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Experience in policy delivery and/or stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in dealing with crises and understanding Australia's crisis arrangements.
  • A proven ability to collaborate with colleagues from various agencies.
  • An understanding of government processes including strategy, planning and decision making.
Desirable Skills:
  • NV2 security clearance or willingness to acquire one.
  • Ability to formulate advice to the Government.
  • Flexibility to work outside of usual business hours.

The successful candidate will be assessed through pre-employment screening checks and will normally be subject to a six-month probation period if new to the APS.
