Crisis Management Leader

As a Crisis Management Leader, you will drive reforms to whole-of-Australian Government strategic all-hazards crisis management response arrangements and capabilities.

  • You will manage the Australian Government Crisis Management Framework (AGCMF), the Crisis Arrangements Committee secretariat, and the Crisis Management function.
  • Represent the department at Australian Government and national crisis meetings and provide situational updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the Prime Minister's role in crisis through formal and informal briefings.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement crisis management strategies and policies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support crisis planning and response efforts.
  • Manage the Duty Officer function and coordinate responses to crises.
Requirements:
  • Experience in domestic policy, program delivery, and/or stakeholder engagement.
  • Understanding of Australia's crisis arrangements and experience in dealing with domestic and international crises.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and cooperate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Ability to apply judgment in formulating advice to the Government and keep calm under pressure.
