Job Description

We are seeking an experienced property underwriter to join our team. This is a senior role that requires a strong understanding of risk assessment and underwriting principles, as well as excellent technical knowledge of commercial, industrial, and SME properties.

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in property underwriting, with experience in evaluating risks and making sound underwriting decisions. They will also be able to oversee a portfolio of mid-sized and major property accounts, drive growth by identifying new business opportunities, and determine premiums for both new and renewal policies using rating tools and established frameworks.

In addition to their technical expertise, the successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to build and maintain effective relationships with brokers and other stakeholders, and work collaboratively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate property risks and make sound underwriting decisions
  • Oversee a portfolio of mid-sized and major property accounts
  • Drive growth by identifying and converting new business opportunities
  • Determine premiums for both new and renewal policies
  • Draft, issue, and review policy documentation
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A solid background in property underwriting
  • Strong technical knowledge of risk assessment and underwriting principles
  • Proven ability to build and maintain broker relationships
  • ANZIIF qualifications or equivalent (preferred)
  • A proactive, analytical, and solutions-focused approach
