Senior Wound Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Wound Care Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a significant impact in the field of wound care.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert guidance on wound assessment, treatment planning, and oversight of wound nursing teams. A strong background in community or acute nursing is essential, along with advanced skills in wound care and the ability to provide education and mentorship to other clinicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support Community RNs and Education/Assessment Nurses
- Act as clinical lead for wound care, including complex wound assessments, treatment planning, and oversight of wound nursing runs
- Provide expert advice, training, and mentorship to nursing staff on wound management
- Manage clinical referrals, booking assessments, and allocating cases
- Review assessments and ensure timely communication with referrers and coordinators
- Oversee client care plans for catheter care, wound care, diabetes, seizure management, and medication support
- Maintain stakeholder relationships with organisations and insurance companies
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure timely quotes and billing processes
- Manage incident reporting and follow-up with staff and stakeholders
Requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership and staff management
- Strong background in community or acute nursing
- Advanced skills in wound care, including assessment and management of complex wounds
- Ability to provide education and mentorship to other clinicians on wound management
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of care planning across wound care, catheter care, diabetes, seizure management, and medication protocols
- Current NDIS Working with vulnerable people check (yellow card) and Working with Children Check (blue card) or willingness to obtain
- Undertake Clinical on call
- Current Australian Drivers Licence

You will be part of our Head Office team based in Southport, working Monday – Friday, 8.00am to 4.06pm. There are around 20 of us in Head Office - we have a wonderful team, who works hard, and you are rewarded and appreciated for your efforts. And you will need to love dogs as we have an office pooch most days that makes us all happy during the day.
