A leading consultancy is seeking a Biodiversity Lead to join its New South Wales team, providing expertise on complex projects and driving innovation in ecology and infrastructure coexistence. As a key member of the Environment & Planning Practice, you will lead a passionate team of ecologists, foster a collaborative culture, and provide technical oversight of ecological assessments.

Job Description:

This exciting opportunity involves delivering end-to-end projects, from scoping and fieldwork to reporting and client liaison. You will collaborate with our National biodiversity team to shape the consultancy's ecology offering and thought leadership, while developing strong relationships with clients, consultants, and regulators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor a team of ecologists, promoting a high-performing culture.
  • Provide technical oversight of ecological and biodiversity assessments, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Deliver and manage projects end-to-end, including scoping, fieldwork, reporting, and client liaison.
  • Collaborate with the National biodiversity team to shape the consultancy's ecology offering and thought leadership.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in biodiversity, preferably within consulting settings, with expertise in transport or energy markets. Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities are essential, along with proficiency in biodiversity legislation, impact assessments, and approvals processes.
