About The M1 South - Blackhill To Tomago Project.

  • The joint venture between John Holland and Gamuda Australia will deliver a 10-kilometre dual carriageway motorway extension between Black Hill and Tomago.
  • There are 8 bridges that include a 2.6km viaduct over the hunter river and over 1.3m3 cut and fill of Earthworks, as well as new congestion-busting interchanges at Black Hill, Tarro and Tomago.
Project Overview

The M1 to Raymond Terrace project team is currently looking for an experienced Tier 1 Site Engineer to join the team, based in Tarro, approximately 30 minutes from Newcastle CBD.

Responsibilities Of The Role Include:

  1. Work closely with the Projects Engineering and Supervisory team to ensure timely delivery of programme requirements from a cost and time perspective.
  2. Significant input in managing project Quality Systems with respect to inspections, checklists, documentation, and record keeping.
  3. Planning & programming.
  4. Assist with procurement & supplier management.
  5. Ensure compliance of the works undertaken in relation to technical specifications, applicable legislation, approvals and standards with a focus on risk management.

To be successful in this key role, you must have:

  • Proven experience in working on Tier 1 Civil Infrastructure Projects.
  • Degree qualified Civil Engineer with at least 3 years post graduate experience.
  • Understanding contemporary practices in construction methodology on civil infrastructure projects.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate with different stakeholders.
  • A team player with the ability to deliver on tight deadlines.
