About the role

Are you an experienced Civil Plant Operator looking for a new challenge? JH Civil, a civil construction company in Newcastle, NSW, is seeking a skilled Civil Plant Operator to join our dynamic team on a casual basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of critical infrastructure projects in the Newcastle, Central coast and Hunter Valley regions.

What you'll be doing

  • Safely operate a range of civil construction equipment such as excavators, tipper trucks, and rollers to execute tasks on-site

  • Assist with the completion of earthworks, pipelaying, and site preparation activities

  • Perform routine maintenance and pre-start checks on assigned machinery

  • Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Civil Plant Operator, with a proven track record of safe and efficient machinery operation

  • Relevant licences and certifications, including a valid Heavy Vehicle Licence and appropriate plant operator tickets

  • Strong understanding of civil construction processes and equipment capabilities

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

  • A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to risk management

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic construction environment

  • A team player
