Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mining Engineer to join our team at the Fimiston Underground Mine.

Main Responsibilities
  • Drilling and Blasting Plans: Design, deliver, and optimize drilling and blasting plans and systems to ensure efficient mining operations.
  • Instruction Issuance: Ensure issued instructions are clear, concise, and understandable to minimize errors and ensure compliance.
  • Drill and Blast Quality Control: Conduct quality control of drill and blast activities to guarantee adherence to standards and regulations.
  • Scheduling and Prioritization: Review weekly schedules to prioritize deadlines and ensure timely completion of production activities.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with operations and survey teams to coordinate production activities and provide end-of-day reporting on all mining activities.
  • Improvement Projects: Identify and undertake improvement projects to enhance mining practices and optimize production efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field.
  • Drivers Licence: Current Western Australian Drivers Licence (Manual).
  • Mine Design Software: Experience with mine design software - Deswik.
  • Underground Production Experience: Proven experience in underground production in a mechanized hard-rock underground mine.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
