Drilling and Blast Training Program Manager Job Description:

About the Role

The Drilling and Blast Training Coordinator will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs to ensure safety, efficiency, and best practice in drilling operations.

This is a key role within our organization, working closely with teams across multiple cultures and geographic locations. The successful candidate will have developed leadership skills and experience managing drill and blast training functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for drill rig operators and the shot firing team to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Conduct regular competency assessments to guarantee compliance with regulations and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in performance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of drill & blast practices, safety protocols, and relevant legislation.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing drill and blast training functions.
  • Cert IV Training and Assessment or above.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in open pits drilling and blast function.
  • Load and Haul and/or HD Mechanical experience desirable.
  • Certificate IV WHS or auditing qualifications desirable.
  • Ability to work in remote mining locations and diverse teams and cultures.
  • Previous experience in a training and assessment role highly regarded.
  • Proactive and safety-first approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Surface Shot firing Licence.
  • Experience drilling on L7 and T45 Drill Rigs desirable.
