Wellness Support Advisor

The Wellness Support Advisor, Rural Clinical Campuses is a key position within the UNSW Australia community, responsible for providing wellbeing care services to students with social, emotional, health and wellbeing needs.
Key Responsibilities- Provide triage, assessment and short solutions-based therapy to students with wellbeing needs
- Work closely with the Faculty Wellbeing Officer and senior academic and professional staff at local Rural Clinical Campuses sites
- Liaise regularly with UNSW Central Services, including Mental Health Connect, Psychology and Wellness, Equitable Learning Service and Student Support Team
- Facilitate the critical role in supporting students through a positive wellbeing approach and enhancing the student experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant post-qualifying experience in Psychology, Counselling, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or Mental Health Nurse with registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate accrediting body
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals who have psychosocial support needs, with significant experience conducting psycho-social needs and risks assessments and undertaking short-term therapeutic interventions
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with self-motivation, initiative and judgement
- Capacity to advocate on behalf of students and support them to navigate program and other administrative processes in a complex environment
