Disability Support Worker

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Disability Support Workers. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing in-home support for clients/NDIS participants living with complex mental and other health issues.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and flexibility. They must be able to work independently and as part of a team, using their initiative and problem-solving abilities to deliver exceptional support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support male and female NDIS participants with various mental disabilities
  • Assist and mentor participants to increase independence
  • Encourage engagement in community activities
  • Model and promote appropriate social behaviours
Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Individual Support (Disability) Certificate III or higher
  • Experience working with people with disabilities, especially with mental health needs
  • Skills in medication assistance and/or administration (HLTHPS006)
  • Understanding of incident reporting, documentation, complaints handling, and complex behaviour support
  • Positive attitude
  • Own vehicle with comprehensive insurance, willing to use for work
  • Current CPR & First Aid Certificate
  • Current Open Drivers Licence
  • Current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Card
  • Assist Client with Medication Certificate HLTHPS 006 (highly recommended)
  • Experience with Dementia, Positive Behaviour Support, and Epilepsy is advantageous
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • NDIS Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals
