Registered Nurse/Enrolled Nurse Role

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses to join our Oncology team at St John of God Ballarat Hospital on a permanent full-time basis.

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide comprehensive patient care, supervise Graduate Registered Nurses, Nursing Affiliates, and Nurse Students, and ensure planned nursing interventions are implemented.

The Enrolled Nurse will participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing nursing functions based on education preparation, knowledge, skills, understandings, and past experiences.

Key Responsibilities for Registered Nurse:
  • Interview and examine patients, documenting assessment findings.
  • Promote an environment of confidence, confidentiality, and respect, identifying problems with patients, family, and relevant others.
  • Routinely monitor results of diagnostic procedures and investigations.
  • Assist in assessing complicated nursing problems, guiding Graduate Nurses, Nursing Affiliates, and Nursing Students as needed.
Key Responsibilities for Enrolled Nurse:
  • Plan and implement nursing care to meet physical and emotional needs of patients.
  • Consider patient needs for an attractive, comfortable, and safe environment.
  • Assist and maintain high standards of care by assisting patients with activities of daily living and encouraging self-care.
  • Prepare and care for patients receiving specialized treatments.

Suitable applicants will be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority as a Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse, demonstrate commitment to quality patient care, and possess well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 2 years clinical experience, preferably in Oncology or Palliative care speciality.
  • A demonstrated interest in these areas.
