Specialist Teacher

Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta is seeking a Specialist Teacher to join our High Support Needs Centres for Learning. As a Specialist Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting our students with high support needs and promoting inclusive practice in our schools.
Key Responsibilities- Create inclusive practice in school culture, focusing on personalised learning and adjustments for students with additional needs and disability.
- Provide specialised teaching support services to schools, building teacher capacity using a gradual release model.
- Offer expert advice to leadership teams, teachers, and the wider system on matters related to specific disabilities and/or additional needs, in accordance with CSPD guidelines.
- Work collaboratively to ensure inclusion, access, and participation, maximising learning outcomes for students with additional needs.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate alignment with the purpose and core values of CSPD, as well as:
- Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance.
- Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
- Tertiary Qualification (minimum 4-year degree, or 75% complete).
- Previous experience working with vulnerable students.
- Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with students and support an inclusive learning environment.
CSPD promotes the safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds. This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment, including the completion of a National Police Check, retention of a valid Working with Children Check, and adoption and compliance with CSPD's Child Safeguarding Procedures and Code of Conduct When Working With Students and Children.
