About the Role:
The High Support Needs Centres for Learning provide an alternative educational platform tailored to the unique requirements of our students. The programs offered are designed to be flexible, allowing for integration into mainstream classes when suitable. Our focus on learning and wellbeing ensures that we provide individualized support for children with high support needs.
The Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese is seeking Specialist Teachers to engage in the high support needs sector, playing a crucial role in enhancing learning outcomes for all students while fostering a fulfilling professional environment for educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fostering an inclusive school culture through the effective implementation of personalized learning strategies and adjustments for students with additional needs and disabilities.
- Delivering specialized teaching support services aimed at enhancing teacher capacity through a gradual release model.
- Providing expert guidance to leadership teams and educators on specific disabilities and additional needs, in alignment with CSPD guidelines.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure inclusion, access, and participation, thereby maximizing learning outcomes for students with additional needs.
Candidate Profile:
To excel in this rewarding position, candidates should demonstrate alignment with the core values and mission of CSPD, alongside the following qualifications:
- Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation, including a Working with Children Check clearance.
- Eligibility as per the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) requirements.
- A tertiary qualification (minimum 4-year degree or 75% completed).
- Previous experience working with vulnerable student populations.
- Proven ability to establish meaningful relationships with students and foster an inclusive learning environment.
