Test Engineering Manager Role

A leading government agency seeks a skilled professional to manage and coordinate testing activities for an initial 6-month contract in Sydney/hybrid environment.

The successful candidate will oversee the testing for the agency's Identity Program, focusing on user lifecycle management and identity maintenance. This complex project requires end-to-end testing activities, ensuring quality and compliance with business requirements.

  • Develop comprehensive UAT testing strategies and methodologies to ensure project success.
  • Plan and deliver test execution schedules, identifying and managing required test infrastructure and environments.
  • Prioritize and write test cases to meet business needs, ensuring thorough testing of solutions.
  • Prepare and provide accurate status reports, metrics, and information to stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, candidates must have:

  • 10 years of experience in testing practices, tools, and methodologies for complex technology projects.
  • 5 years of experience leading and supporting senior test managers and testers.
  • Superior knowledge of JIRA as a test tool and automated testing tools.
  • Previous testing experience with identity solutions is essential.
  • Automated testing experience using test automation tools is desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing/coordinating NFR testing such as Penetration, Performance, Load, and Security testing.
  • Graduate qualification and extensive Test Lead experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

As a Test Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality results while meeting project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of test engineers to develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize testing efforts.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure thorough testing of solutions.
  • Provide regular status updates and progress reports to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing testing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
