We are seeking a highly motivated health professional to fill the role of Health Specialist.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a genuine commitment to a culture of care, along with strong communication and critical thinking skills. They will provide technical expertise in injury prevention, injury management, fitness for work, rehabilitation and return to work processes, including the development of suitable duties plans and associated documents.
About the Role- Coordinates case management with workers' compensation providers, workers, medical and allied health professionals and stakeholders.
- Provides support for regulatory health surveillance activities and reporting, and the delivery of health promotion initiatives.
- Liaises with field staff, offering guidance and support underpinned by a culture of care.
- Maintains enterprise systems (e.g., Cority), data integrity and document management.
- Supports site medical services (e.g., Paramedics, EAP, Physiotherapy, Appointed Medical Advisers and Occupational Physicians).
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related science discipline, preferably with registration (e.g., APHRA, ESSA or similarly related registration).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage, influence and coach various levels of stakeholders both internally and externally.
- Ideal experience working in a complex environment within mining or heavy industry, preferably underground operational experience.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office suite.
- Working knowledge of Queensland workers' compensation process, and RRTWC course completion.
- Awareness of QLD coal mining health and safety legislation.
- Basic principles in occupational hygiene and membership of the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) would be advantageous.
