Job Overview

Seeking a senior communications leader to join our national leadership team as Group Manager, Communications. As a key member of the Executive Team, you will lead integrated organisational communications that elevate the brand and drive public awareness.

About the Role
  • Shape and deliver integrated communications strategy to steward and evolve the brand.
  • Manage brand and reputational risk through proactive media relations and internal communications.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement organisational-wide thought leadership and advocacy communications strategy.
  • Drive fundraising outcomes through strategic communications and partnerships.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years senior experience in communications, media or brand leadership, with a strong record in leading large teams, strategic communications, brand stewardship, and media engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead brand strategy and uplift brand consistency and capability across the organisation.
  2. Develop and implement organisational-wide thought leadership and advocacy communications strategy.
  3. Partner with CEO and Executive Team to position them as thought leaders on key issues, policy debates and research areas aligned to our mission and strategic goals.
  4. Lead and develop a high-performing national communications team leveraging data and insights to drive performance and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success in brand management, public relations, strategic and internal communications.
  • Experience using brand tracking, media metrics and audience insights to drive outcomes.
  • Strong influencing skills across diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
