Role Overview

This is a Presales Design Engineer position that combines engineering and sales skills to support customers with technical expertise in designing high-performing battery energy storage systems.

The ideal candidate will bring projects to life by shaping system designs, running techno-economic models, preparing single line diagrams, and contributing to proposals and tenders.

This role requires partnering with the sales team to understand customer needs and provide pre-sales technical support for EPCs and solar installers.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for feasibility studies, system design input, and customer presentations.
  • Build techno-economic models using Orkestra and Gridcog tools.
  • Prepare BOMs, pricing analysis, SLDs, layouts, and schematics in line with CEC guidelines and Australian Standards.
Requirements

The successful candidate will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3–5 years' experience delivering solar and/or battery projects in commercial and industrial environments.
  • Background in EPC project design, delivery, or commissioning is essential.
  • Proficiency in system modelling tools and knowledge of grid interconnection and AS/NZS standards are also required.
