Responsibilities Include:

  • Providing leadership and direction to ensure the development and maintenance of a high-performing Acute Medicine Service.
  • Coordinating and performing the Acute Medical Ward in conjunction with the Operations Manager to ensure service provision, patient assessment, care planning, care coordination, and continuing management in accordance with professional standards and legislative requirements.
  • Participating in and facilitating the promotion of research and evidence-based care as appropriate.
  • Engaging in relevant clinical network and stream activities, providing professional leadership for nursing Acute Medical Services.
  • Acting as a role model and champion of change by driving the development, implementation, and evaluation of contemporary, evidence-based models of care.
  • Managing nursing professional issues: ensuring that all services provided are in line with current professional standards of practice.
  • Overseeing the professional development of all nursing staff and unit-based administrative staff.
