Director of Product Design Job Overview

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement design strategies that align with business objectives, driving growth and innovation through effective design solutions.
  2. Lead a team of designers, providing direction, guidance, and support to help them achieve their goals and deliver high-quality results.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and marketing, to ensure design solutions meet business needs and customer expectations.
  4. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve design processes and outcomes.
  5. Develop and maintain design standards, guidelines, and documentation, ensuring consistency and quality across all design outputs.
  6. Provide input into product roadmaps and feature prioritization, ensuring design considerations are integrated into business decisions.
  7. Manage design budgets, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in product design leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in driving design innovation and excellence.
  • Experience leading high-performing design teams, with a strong ability to motivate, inspire, and empower team members.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, practices, and technologies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to drive business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
