Job Title: Senior Financial Management Specialist

This is a fixed-term opportunity for an experienced financial management professional to develop and maintain sound financial frameworks, providing high-quality advice to ensure accountability, transparency, and value for money.

About the Role:
  • The successful candidate will lead the development of financial management frameworks to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and enhance best practice.
  • They will interpret Australian Accounting Standards and Queensland Treasury Financial Reporting Requirements to design and develop policies and procedures.
  • The role involves establishing, implementing, and maintaining effective financial policies, procedures, guidelines, and practices.
  • Expert advice will be provided on legislative and policy positions related to financial management and its impact on business units.
Key Responsibilities:
  • To lead continuous improvement by encouraging an environment where high-quality work is achieved.
  • To behave in a manner consistent with core values, following defined service quality standards and occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
  • To communicate and lead with influence to convey complex internal controls, financial delegations, and policy matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in financial management and governance.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and Queensland Treasury Financial Reporting Requirements.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
