Expert Perinatal Mental Health Professional

Seeks a Consultant Psychiatrist to provide expert assessment and treatment for consumers within the Adult Inpatient Unit and Community Perinatal Service at Sutherland Hospital Mental Health.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert medical assessment and management of patients within the department/service
- Work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and staff
- Model a high standard of professional behavior to junior medical staff
The specialist will work across multiple sites and participate in quality improvement activities relevant to the specialty. They will also have experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students and other staff of the hospital.
Requirements:- Registration or eligible for registration with Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and/or equivalent specialist recognition
- Evidence of continuing medical education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position
This is a Category A position, and all applicants must read and understand NSW Health Policy PD2024_015. Successful applicants must provide vaccination history and pathology as part of the application documentation and be certified as compliant before employment can commence.
