About the Role

This is a part-time opportunity working 20 hours minimum per fortnight with opportunities open for casuals.

As a Home Care Worker, you will provide direct care and domestic assistance duties, as well as social support and transport as required for clients.

As a Home Care Domestic Support staff, you will provide domestic assistance duties only, as well as social support and transport as required for clients. This role does not require a qualification.

Key Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Ensuring that clients' rights, cultural, spiritual and other individual needs are incorporated in all aspects of care and daily living.
  • Working within a multidisciplinary team, providing effective support to clients, recognising changes in clients' conditions and escalating observations and concerns in accordance with Uniting AgeWell processes.
  • Promoting and participating in quality activities, and providing outstanding customer service, maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with clients, their relatives and friends.
  • Supporting colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Having your own car (registered in your own name), valid insurance and a current Victorian/Tasmanian driver's licence.
About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about what they do and wants to make a difference in the lives of our residents/clients, enhancing their self-esteem and empowering them to make choices.

Some of the key qualities we are looking for include:

  • Certificate III/IV or equivalent in Individual Support (Aged or Disability) or equivalent (or currently studying a Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
  • Current and valid Victorian/Tasmanian Driver's Licence.
  • Experience in a home care setting or providing domestics support is desirable.
  • Knowledge in community care with a commitment to high standards of care for clients and their families.
  • Understanding of client directed care.
  • Thriving in a team and also appreciating one-to-one interactions.
  • Being committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust).
Essentials for Working in Aged Care

Some of the essentials for working in aged care include:

  • A current Working With Children Check card / Vulnerable People card.
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations.
  • Australian working rights.
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance.
