Vehicle Inspection Career Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified professional to fill the role of Vehicle Inspector. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of various vehicles, including heavy and light vehicles and buses.

Your primary focus will be on auditing maintenance schedules, supporting accreditation systems, and providing technical advice to government agencies and clients. Additionally, you will coordinate inspections in regional locations, communicating effectively with stakeholders and preparing clear written reports.

To succeed in this role, you must possess strong technical expertise, including an understanding of vehicle mechanics and compliance standards. You should also have recent experience in the vehicle repair industry and knowledge of complex vehicle systems and evolving technologies.

A Strong Written Communication skill is required to write clear, detailed reports that simplify technical findings for a wide range of stakeholders. Analytical and problem-solving skills are also essential to analyze complex information and research findings to provide advice in written reports and recommendations.

Attention to detail is crucial in conducting thorough inspections and identifying key compliance or safety issues. Organisation and time management skills are also necessary to schedule and coordinate inspections, managing multiple priorities and customers.

You will work in a dynamic environment with a variety of customers and stakeholders, requiring adaptability and excellent customer service skills.

Qualified candidates will hold a Light or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic qualification or any other professional mechanical qualification with appropriate vehicular experience. Recent vehicle repair industry experience and knowledge of complex vehicle systems and evolving technologies are highly desirable.

The successful candidate will be required to provide a National Police Check and a Department for Human Services (DHS) Working with Children Check. They must also hold a current driver's licence for cars and be willing to obtain a Heavy Rigid (HR) licence.

The role offers a competitive salary package, including remuneration at OPS4 - $76,561 to $80,256 pa + superannuation. The position is based at Regency Park, and regular travel within the state will be necessary, including some overnight stays, with extra travel allowance provided.
